Agricultural Buildings Show Shepton Mallet
Receau have been asked to present a seminar on rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling at the Agricultural Buildings Show at Shepton Mallet on 2nd April at 11.30 am. Here, you will be able to see how much money can be saved by using the rain that falls on your roofs, and how you can utilise Enhanced Capital Allowances towards the purchase of a system. (See also the Agricultural page of this website.) There will also be a stand at the show, with more information if you want to find out more about Receau and rainwater harvesting/ greywater recycling.

EU Water Framework Directive.
Within the EU there are already 4 countries who are identified as suffering from "water stress" as a result of changing weather patterns. The EU has identified that we all need to make our water use sustainable in order to manage the impact of climate change on water supplies. The legislation for this is called the Water Framework Directive.
The way that sustainable water use is going to be achieved is by raising the price of water to provide an incentive for us NOT to use it - therefore reducing demand.
OFWAT has said that water prices will rise at 4.2% above inflation over the coming years.
A spokesman for Thames Water said recently that "We believe that metering is the fairest way of charging as it directly links consumption to cost". What they really mean is that they want to get 4.2% more for every drop of water they supply to you, so that they don't lose any profits in meeting EU targets for reduction in demand. What's fair about that?
A Rainwater Harvesting System can yield up to 60% of your water needs. Combine it with a Greywater Recycling System, and you will only need to buy your drinking water - 2 litres per person, per day.
It will pay for itself quicker than you thought!
